POOR STATE OF JOS-ANGWARE ROAD ASSUMES WORRISOME DIMENSION

The deteriorating condition of the road linking Jos to Angware, the headquarters of Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau state has assumed a worrisome dimension as motorists now find it difficult to ply the road.

Apart from potholes and ditches that liter the over 50 km road, many portions of the road have caved in due to impacts of the rains

Most worrisome is a portion of the road at Koribin  Keben  village which has already cut into two due erosion, forcing road users to veer off into the bush in a bid to continue their journey.

Villagers say  that many vehicles on different occasions had been trapped in the mud in an attempt to avoid the bad portion, forcing the stranded passengers to seek for assistance while calling on the state and local government to intervene in the situation without further delay.

Correspondent JAMES ABRAHAM reports that the situation has led to hike in transportation fares as most commercial vehicles have changed their route in a bid to save their vehicles from constant damage and nightmares being experienced on  the failed road.
