National Assembly Resumes Plenary After Seven-Week Break

After a seven-week recess, the National Assembly is set to resume plenary.

The Federal lawmakers are expected to consider some critical issues as they resume.

the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, while reading a prepared speech to welcome his colleagues from a two-months break highlighted that some of the major issues which the Senate have lined up to consider in plenary are the issue of flooding in some parts of the country, the inadequate releases in the 2017 budget, and the need to stabilize and sustain the post-recession growth in the economy.

Saraki also revealed that  chairmen of all the standing committees have also been mandated to up their game and carry out effective oversight functions of MDAs, to ensure that the 2017 budget is fully implemented
