Students of the plateau state polytechnic, jos campus held a peaceful protest today to express their disappointment towards the management of the school following allegations of the management’s refusal to disburse the relief funds and materials allocated to them by the state government and other private individuals.
According to some of the victims, the funds and materials were given to the school management on behalf of the victims of the fire outbreak which destroyed properties including credentials owned by some students residing in the female hostel of the campus on the 28th of august 2017.
It was also gathered that appropriate accommodation is yet to be provided for the victims. The students who said that the protest was held in other to show their agitations also used the opportunity to appeal the authorities to speedily distribute the moneys and materials that had been awarded to them.
Also speaking to our correspondent, a staff of the institution who pleaded anonymity urged the students to be patient as the materials that were allocated are not sufficient. While thanking the state government she appealed to them and other private institutions and individuals on the plateau to provide more assistance to the victims.
