The method adopted by Governor Simon Lalong in ensuring that permanent peace reins in Plateau state is generating fresh controversy among residents, with many of them condemning the approach .

Correspondent JAMES ABRAHAM reports that in a recent interview with journalists, the Governor had said that he decided to appoint the Hausa Fulanis into his cabinet and other governance positions as a way of maintaining peace in the state.

However, some residents who reacted to the issue while speaking with JAY FM in Jos on Monday disagreed with the Governor insisting that giving appointment to people based on intimidation, harassment or any other sentimental criteria  has never achieved peace anywhere in the world and as such, cannot achieve lasting peace in Plateau

As a way of finding lasting peace in the state, the respondents maintained that those responsible for continuous killings in the state should not be allowed to go scot free while also calling on the Governor to always put the interest of Plateau people first above other considerations in the political scheme of things in the country .
