Chairman PDP plateau state Damishi Sango holds press conference in jos, wednesday

The chairman, People’s Democratic Party, Plateau State, Damishi T. Sango, on Wednesday, February 27th, 2019, held a press conference at the PDP secretariat in Jos.

Addressing newsmen, Sango, acknowledged that the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections were relatively peaceful stating that there was also an enthusiastic turn out of the people to vote despite the earlier inexcusable postponement of the elections by INEC which had brought untold anguish and disappointment on the electorate.
Sango said PDP salutes its supporters for their commitment and resilience in seeking to chart a new course for a united, secure and prosperous Plateau by vesting their trust in PDP through overwhelmingly voting for the party as seen in their votes that gave PDP unassailable victory across the state.

The PDP Chairmen However sadly noted that four days after the conduct of the elections, INEC is yet to turn in the final results and declare the winners. The situation cuts across the three senatorial zones of the state.

Sango also asserted that It is evident that the wholesome cancellation of units across the state was deliberately targeted at disenfranchising the people and weakening PDP bases, alleging that the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Husseini Halilu Pai had compromised his position as an umpire. Consequently, he has set the whole of Plateau on tension which is a recipe for monumental crisis

In a strong worded statement, Sango said the PDP is alerting the nation and the world to hold the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Husseini Halilu Pai responsible for any breakdown of law and order.

Jay FM gathered that after the press conference, PDP Stakeholders led by the gubernatorial candidate, J T Useini embarked on a peaceful protest to the INEC office Headquarters in Miango, on the need to declare results of general elections conducted five days ago.
