A thirty-year-old welder, Davou Gyang, has been arrested by men of the Plateau State Police Command over the death of one POS operator in the Dadin Kowa area of Jos.
The operator was said to have been killed after she was robbed of cash and other valuables.
The robbers also shot one woman in her POS shop at Zaramangada area of Jos South Local Government Area.
Gyang, a father of three was among the seventeen suspects paraded by the police for various offences at the Command’s Headquarters in Jos on Thursday.
Speaking with Jayfm correspondent, Gyang noted that he was deceived by the leader of the five-man gang still at large to take part in the robbery operation claiming that he did not know that his friend who lured him into the operation was an armed robber.
The State Commissioner of Police, Isaac Akinmoyede who paraded the suspects reiterated the command’s commitment to rid the state of criminality adding that the suspects would be charged to court when investigation was concluded.
