Communities in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau state are expressing concern over renewed attacks and killings by gunmen in their domains while calling on the state government and security agencies to come to their aid
Jay FM gathered on Thursday that the fresh security concern by the people followed two separate attacks in Kwal District by suspected herdsmen in which five people were killed on Tuesday night.
Our correspondent learnt on Thursday that the incidents occurred in Kperie and Gbra Zongo communities.
It was also learnt that the gangsters killed three children from the same family in Gbra Zongo before moving to the neighbouring Kperie to kill the other two women.
An uncle of the slain children, who identified himself as Danjuma Anthony, confirmed the killings in Gbra Zongo to our correspondent in Jos.
He named the children as Rachel (six), Jacob (three) and Charity (one).
Anthony said, the unprovoked attack and killing of innocent children only shows the level of insecurity the people are facing in the community.
A youth leader in Kperie, Rogo Friday, confirmed the killing of two women in the community and called on the government to take the issue of security of the people more serious so as to forestall a recurrence
