Political elders of Mwaghavul ethnic nationality in Plateau state have stated that for the state to develop and realize its full potentials, the various ethnic groups in the state must unite and work together to achieve a common purpose.
They, however, warned that for it to be achieved, those scheming to destroy the bonds of unity among the people must not be allowed to succeed in their evil agenda
The warning by the elders followed the recent press conference addressed by the former Secretary to the State Government, S .D Lot on behalf of a group called Plateau Patriots in which he was credited to have incited violence and attacked the unity, longevity, and peaceful co-existence among the ethnic nationalities that make up Plateau State.
In a statement issued in Jos and signed by their Secretary, Mike Dachom, Mwaghavul Political elders who condemned the comment by Plateau Patriots noted with worry the ongoing reduction of the productive people of the State to internally displaced persons (IDP) by the enemies of the state ,expressing regrets that instead of assessing the situation dispassionately with a view to pointing government in the right direction of sensitivity and value for human life, the former SSG chose the inglorious route of mischief and sycophancy.
According to them, such disposition and comment by the former SSG towards the security challenge facing the state neither brings solution to the problem nor unify the different ethnic groups against incessant attacks but only goes to expose him as an enemy of the people.
While calling on the former SSG to have a change of heart in his attempt to cause fresh anarchy in the state with his infamous press conference, the Mwaghavul Political elders equally urged the people to remain formidable on all fronts as that is the only way to ensure their collective survival as people
