The Presidency has denied the involvement of President Muhammadu Buhari, in the purported impeachment notice on Governor Samuel Ortom by the Benue State House of Assembly.
The denial comes barely 24 hours after some lawmakers from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) served an impeachment notice on the governor.
The President who is attending the ECOWAS/ECCAS Summit in Togo said attempts are being made to drag him into the unfolding drama between the executive and legislature in Benue State.
In a statement by the President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, Buhari said does not have a hand in the development in the north-central state.
Adesina is of the opinion that the President could not abandon pressing national issues to interfere in the activities of the state governed by Ortom.
