The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has resigned his position and announced his exit from the ruling party.
He announced his resignation and departure from the ruling party in a statement signed by him on Wednesday.
Abdullahi said “In view of recent political developments in the country and within the APC, he has decided to resign his position as the National Publicity Secretary as well as membership of the party with effect from today.
He also said in the last few days, he has had to endure the flagrant usurpation of his role as the spokesman of the party in a manner that he consider unbefitting of a ruling party and inconsistent with his ethical standards.
The former APC spokesperson said he served the party honestly and to the best of his ability, adding that it was a keen desire to continue to do so when he contested election at the last convention.
He, however, said it became imperative for him to review his position in a situation where his loyalty was allegedly brought into question and his subordinates purportedly deployed to subvert his office.
