Kogi state Police Command has confirmed the death of a Nigerian university undergraduate at Kogi State University, Ayingba, Alli Sharif, who was stabbed by his colleague.
Sharif, a 300-Level student of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, was allegedly stabbed to death on his birthday by a fellow student in 100-Level identified as Santa Cruise, of the Department of Public Administration on Wednesday.
An eyewitness said Sharif was stabbed while trying to separate a fight between the alleged killer and another student at the university gate.
He was reportedly stabbed with a broken bottle in the neck and bled to death before help could reach him.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, Williams Aya, confirmed the incident and promised the police will apprehend the suspect.
