The police in Plateau State and the Special taskforce deployed to restore peace in the state ,otherwise known as Operation Safe Haven ,have yet to arrest the suspected herdsmen who recently killed eight persons and burnt 95 houses in Abonong and Zayit villages of Barki Ladi Local Government Area
This is even as the police has again confirmed fresh attack on Nding Suisut village,a neighboring community in the Council Area, where the gunmen were said to have shot two persons and two others wounded .
The injured victims were recovered to Barki Ladi General Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment
According to the police, the family members of those who lost their lives during the attack which occurred on Thursday declined autopsy adding that the corpses were released to them for burial
Apart from the Barki Ladi incident, several other deadly attacks have equally occurred recently in many other communities in the state with the police issuing statements confirming the attacks and promising to arrest the perpetrators but the citizens who are daily being traumatized are yet to see the promise translate into action.
When contacted , the Spokesman of the State Police Command, Tyopev Mathias Terna and his counterpart from the Operation Safe Haven ,Umar Adams were yet to respond to JAY Fm’s inquiry on the status of the various investigations which they claimed were being carried out by detectives over the incessant attacks and killings in the state that have continued unabated
