North Central PDP condemns attempt to form pararrel party leadership in Plateau

Condemnation has continued to trail an attempt by a former Council Chairman for Lantang North, Nandom Penap and members his group to form a parallel PDP leadership in Plateau state.

It was learnt that the action of the group was encouraged by a letter said to have been written to the police authorities by one of the party elders,  Senator Jeremiah Useni.

But in a statement by the North Central Zone of the PDP, the party said it was unfortunate that those involved could engage in such an illegal action when they know that the National Working Committee had constituted a valid caretaker committee for Plateau state headed by Hon Yakubu Chocho ,in line with the party’s constitution pending the election of a new state exco

Describing the action of the group as a direct affront on the legitimate decision of the PDP National Executive Committee,, the statement signed by the North Central Publicity Secretary of the party, Arc. Suleiman Mohammed, noted that the perpetrators of the aberration and their sponsors went to the extreme and called on them to retrace their steps and apologize to the PDP national headquarters for their actions.

The statement noted that Plateau state is just trying to recover from a protracted leadership crisis that took the Grace of God and a lot of careful consultations, tolerance and and compromise on the part of the National Working Committee and Plateau state stakeholders to achieve.

Stressing that any caretaker committee for Plateau state PDP other than the one led by Hon. Yakubu Chocho is illegal, the statement  therefore, warned that the North Central Leadership would not sit idle and watch the great progress by the National Working Committee and leaders of the party in the state rubished by anyone regardless of whoever is involved.
