Concerned by the wave of attacks in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja is urging troops of Operation Hakorin Damisa to immediately bring an end to the menace.
Speaking at the weekend in Mangu Local government, General Lagbaja expressed confidence in the abilities of his men to stop the incessant attacks particularly in that area.
The Army Chief however admitted that the situation had become complex as a result of the ethnic and religious dimension that has been introduced into it but further insisted that the rules of engagement must be strictly adhered to by the troops.
Speaking on the allegation that his men were complicit and taking sides, he said they had investigated the claims but found it baseless and lacking any element of truth.
