BREAKING: Gunmen attack police station in Abia, Akwa Ibom

Gunmen on Wednesday burnt Bende Police Station, in Bende Local Government Area, barely six hours after the state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu left the local government after meeting an immediate past House of Representatives member who represented Bende Federal Constituency, Hon. Nnenna Ukeje.
The Bende Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State has reportedly been attacked by hoodlums.
This is coming few hours after the unknown gunmen burnt the office of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at Amaekpu.
The affected police station is located at the outer gate of the LGA headquarters and about less than 10 metres from the LGA field where the occasion held.
The attackers were said to have burnt all the vehicles parked in the station before razing the building.
According to nearby residents, “We heard series of gunshots, and when we rushed outside, we saw the station on fire.”
In another development, unknown gunmen have killed a police officer during an attack on two police stations in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
It was gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday.
The spokesman of the state police command, SP Odiko Macdon, noted that the gunmen first attacked Etim Ekpo Area Command, where Edogi Bassey, an officer, was killed and later proceeded to Ika Divisional Police Station.
