President Muhammadu Buhari is saying that Nigerians voted for Bola Tinubu and other candidates of the ruling APC in last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections because of the high level of development brought about by the present administration.
He made this known while receiving the president-elect and other leaders of the ruling party at his Daura country home in Katsina.
According to a statement issued by presidential spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari says he was pleased that the people chose the APC and its candidates.

By this, Buhari says, the people affirmed their desire that the momentum of development under the current administration continues.
In a similar manner, President-elect Bola Tinubu says his certificate of return was not only an attestation of his victory at the February 25 presidential poll, but also a call to duty, which he could not ignore.
Tinubu calls on all Nigerians, both those who voted for him and those who did not, to join hands with him in a common endeavour to pull the country through its current difficulties.
The APC candidate in last Saturday’s presidential election told his opponents and their supporters that he understood their hurt following emergence from a tight race.
Tinubu spoke after he was presented with the Certificate of Return by Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
The former Lagos State governor says he needed the support of his opponents as much as Nigeria needed them, reiterating his commitment to progress, development, and renewed hope for all Nigerians.
