Election Preparations Underway: Plateau State Electoral Commissioner Urges Media to Emphasize Public Participation for a Peaceful Poll on February 3, 2024

Media has been charged to once more inform the general public on the imperative of their active participation and orderly conducts to ensure a peaceful election come 3rd February, 2024.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Plateau state, Dr Oliver Agundu states this to Jayfm during a news conference in preparation for the court Ordered Re-run of Senatorial election in Plateau North and House of Representative election in Jos North/Bassa federal constituency at the INEC office in Jos.
He stresses that the operational principles for the last general election are still the same as well as the basic procedure and requirements.
Dr Agundu says almost all non-sensitive materials of different categories are already in the concerned Local Governments except very few shortfalls as they are expecting full compliments from the Headquarters, while sensitive materials will arrive next week.
However, the Commissioner notes that the election will not be held for polling unites for some reasons such as zero Registration.
Dr Agundu explains that the election will be conducted in Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Jos North, Jos East, and Riyom under Plateau North Senatorial constituency which have 73 registration Areas, 2266 Polling Units with 1,167,001 voters who have collected their PVCs, while Jos North/Bassa federal constituency has 30 registration Areas, with 1209 Polling Units with 614,956 voters who have collected their PVCs.
