CSO urges EFCC, ICPC to probe Nigeria’s crude oil production

Written by on July 2, 2024

The Nigeria Citizens Watch for Good Governance, a civil society organization, is calling on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission ICPC to investigate Nigeria’s crude oil production.

The organization alleges certain inconsistencies in the figures recently announced by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPCL.

In a petition signed by Collins Eshiofeh, National President and Mohammed Grema Adamu Secretary General, the CSO claims that the NNPCL’s figures contradict the actual amount of crude oil produced daily, demanding investigations to ensure transparency.
