Kebbi State Comptroller of Customs, Mr Ernest Iheanacho, says the joint border patrol team on intelligence-based patrol intercepted 6,250 sacks of dynamite explosives en route to Kebbi along Yauri-Jega road.

The explosives, according to him, were loaded in a canter vehicle which was intercepted immediately, leading to the arrest of the driver, one Abdullahi Aliyu, who was billed to hand over to Alhaji Mustapha Garba Jega, the receiver.

He explained that, upon the discovery of the items, both intelligence units of the joint patrol team examined them and confirmed that the items were explosives.

Iheanacho also stated that due to the dangerous nature of the items, the command decided to hand over the explosives to the Department of Security Services DSS as the rightful custodians
