Governors to meet EFCC and CBN over security votes

 The governors of the 36 states of the federation will tomorrow Tuesday, 5th March 2023, meet with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN over the security votes in their respective domains.

Spokesperson of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, also said in a statement that those expected at the meeting are the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, ICPC and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS.

The planned meeting, which will be virtual, is to ensure full attendance by all the relevant officers in the matter.

Bello-Barkindo states that the governors as well as the economic and financial agencies in the country will use the opportunity to iron out thorny issues surrounding their states’ security votes, towards establishing a better option for managing the funds.
