The Nasarawa State Indigenous Tribes on the Plateau, NASITOP, has expressed its displeasure over the recent attacks on communities in Mangu and Barkin Ladi Local government areas of Plateau State.
In a statement signed by the acting secretary of NASITOP, Engineer Madami J. R. I and made available to Jay FM, the group says these deplorable acts of violence that have left many citizens in anguish and despair must be brought to an end by government and security agencies.
The statement further calls on government to investigate the immediate causes of the violent attacks and bring perpetrators to justice in order to serve as a deterrent to others.
NASITOP therefore calls upon Plateau residents to reject violence and embrace dialogue as a means of resolving disputes.
Lamenting the plight of victims of the attacks, the group appeals to government to as a matter of urgency, provide necessary support to the affected communities in order to ensure that they rebuild their lives.
