Gunmen kill miners in Plateau

The Security problem in Plateau state deserves the greatest attention of all concerned agencies and individuals!
With that being said, we’ll go further to tell you that three miners have been shot dead at a site in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Movement, BYM), Rwang Tengwong, confirmed the incident to JayFm, adding that other miners and farmers around have fled the area.
Tengwong says the incident occurred at the weekend, adding that two other persons were injured.
He says the latest in the series of killings was despite the deployment of mobile police officers in the area.
While that is taking shape, the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, is reassuring all citizens of Nigeria that the general security of lives and property in Nigeria will be improved in all ramifications.
The IGP reiterates the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force, under his watch, to attain its primacy in the internal security architecture of Nigeria.
In furtherance of his vision and painstaking drives to achieve his goals, the Acting Inspector-General of Police will be meeting with Commanders of the seventy-nine Police Mobile Force Squadrons today, Monday 26th June, 2023 at Abuja.
The purpose is to up-skill them on new operational strategies for improved training, deployments and enhanced tactical engagements for better public safety and general security for all and sundry.
