The first edition of Town Hall Meeting organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission plateau state, in collaboration with Jay FM was held in Jos today at the Azi Nyako Youth Centre in Dadin Kowa.

The meeting had in attendance, different stakeholders including politicians, youth groups, religious leaders, community associations, civil society organizations, media practitioners as well as security agents among others.

INEC resident electoral commissioner Halilu Hussani Pai said the meeting was held to provide a platform for discussing and educating critical stakeholders on the roles of inec,the need for Nigerians to participate actively in the electoral process.

He also spoke on the importance of having a credible, hitch free election come 2019

Christiana okon representing the Nigerian bar association, NBA spoke on the need for the youths to be law abiding and also said youths should carry on the ideology of our forefathers who have stood their ground and gave their lives to make sure that we have a better Nigeria.

The representative of Nigeria union of journalist peter aminu said journalist have contributed immensely in conveying information to the stakeholders to make sure that democracy is sustained and will continue to do that.
