Israel’s defense minister Yoav Gallant says their troops are in the heart of Gaza City.
Gallant says the Israel Defense Forces stormed the city from the north and south.
Hamas-run authorities say homes were bombed in Gaza City overnight, with deaths reported.
The Israeli military says it killed a Hamas weapons leader and continues to operate deep in the Gaza Strip.
IDF spokesperson, Jonathan Conricus says Israel’s advance was going on according to plans.
Israel launched its operation after the Hamas attacks on 7 October, which saw 1,400 people killed and more than 200 taken hostage
According to the Hamas-run health ministry, more than 10,300 people have been killed in Gaza including more than 4,100 children.
