Let’s take-off from Plateau state and tell you that in line with the state Governor’s declaration of an official day of mourning, today 8th January 2024, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has held a peace walk in Jos, calling for an end to the bloodletting in Plateau state.
Our correspondent, Nnadi Esther reports the procession commenced at the PRTVC roundabout, Rayfield and terminated at the new government house, where the governor received the mourners.
This comes after at least one hundred and thirty-five persons were gruesomely murdered in Bokkos local government, the latest of such carnage in Plateau state.
Meanwhile, the Plateau state Governor who received the peace-walkers at the new government house Rayfield, assured them that he will personally transmit their petition to President Bola Tinubu.
This is as he says the President is committed to putting an end to the cycle of violence on innocent Plateau citizens.
The governor also calls on all to remain united and not allow the seed of discord to be sown amongst them.
