The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, will today begin a two-day warning strike after shunning a meeting with the Federal Government over increasing hardship and suffering across the country caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.
The last-minute reconciliatory meeting was convened by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong.
The purpose of the meeting was to avert the two-day warning strike.
The NLC had declared a two-day warning strike to begin today which is Tuesday, 5th September.
However, the Festus Osifo-led Trade Union Congress, TUC, was said to have shown up for the meeting.
All efforts by JayFm to speak to the NLC Chairman in Plateau state were unsuccessful, as he was not picking up his telephone calls.
