The People Democratic Party (PDP), Plateau state chapter has accused the Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong of spending over 2.3 billion Naira on chartered flights between 2015 to 2017.
According to John Akans, the chapter’s publicity secretary, over two billion Naira (2,298,371,102,00) has been spent by the governor for local travel and transport via chartered flight Hawker Hs 800/800×p.
“It has been established that Governor Lalong hardly travels to Abuja by road anymore, including members of his family who uses chartered flight to and from Abuja and neighbouring locations almost 5times a week,” Mr Akans alleged in a press statement on behalf of the PDP.
In a previous statement, the PDP described the 2022 budget as a systematic aggregation of corrupt estimates of expenditure prepared by Governor Lalong to swindle the state of its resources as the government winds up. In a rebuttal, the APC in the state tagged the statements as “empty press release to convince even a pedestrian watcher of events in the state”
