Plateau Local Transition Chair raises alarm over financial infraction by previous government

The transition committee chairman for Mikang Local government area of Plateau state, Honorable Daniel Kungmi, is saying that the present government led by Barrister Caleb Mutfwang inherited a debt burden North of N250 billion from the previous administration, headed by then governor, Simon Lalong.

Speaking on Nigeria at Sunset, a live radio programme on Jay101.9Fm, he says the transition committee members in the side of the former administration were insincere on many fronts as reflected on the handing over note it gave the current government.

Honorable Kungmi further revealed that the state inherited a workforce of 19, 201 with a recent employment of 5, 252 as of January 2023, despite lean resources in the treasury

Commenting on the security challenges hurting the state, he notes that the government has expressed readiness to partner local security bodies in combating the problem, as well as reviving the Operation Rainbow that has gone moribund to make Plateau work for all.
