Plateau state Ministry of Budget and economic planning tasks citizens on active policy formulation

The Plateau state Commissioner, ministry of budget and economic planning, Dr. Philip Hirkop is urging citizens to get involved in policy formulation by way of idea contributions and support for active implementation.
He made the call at a stakeholders townhall meeting in budget process for the year 2024 held at the Shendam Youth Centre.
Dr. Hirkop says such an interactive session was geared towards highlighting the achievement of the present administration, led by Governor Simon Lalong in budget implementation and other sectors.
The permanent secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Peter Lamba noted that citizens have the right to make input in the budget drafting process and ensure that government executes it to a logical conclusion
Participants at the townhall meeting were drawn from six local government areas of the Plateau Southern zone
Still on the Plateau, the people of Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau state have been called upon to take the issue of security seriously.
Members of the legislative council in the Council area who made the call during their plenary also passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman of the council, Barrister Zulfa Bitrus Rimven
The councilors note that Langtang North had made great progress under the leadership of Zulfa as Council chairman since he assumed office two years ago.
In a motion moved by the Councilor representing kuffen A ward, Honorable Lohjul Gwamfa, and seconded by the majority leader of the House and 15 other councilors, the council calls on the people to support the chairman for more dividends and progress.
Before we leave the home front, the Nigeria Electricity Regulation Commission, NERC, is holding a 3-day customer complaints resolution meeting in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
The NERC Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, Aisha Mahmood says the meeting is aimed at enlightening customers about their rights with regards to electricity distribution and consumption as well resolving other complaints on the spot.
Aisha states that the Commission was working hard to ensure that the country’s electricity sector is not left behind and meters supply to all customers.
The MD/CEO Jos Electricity Distribution Plc, Engineer Abdu Bello notes that the company is making efforts to ensure its customers are properly metered.
Engineer Bello highlighted the dangers involved in energy theft, while encouraging individuals to take the responsibility of securing their communities’ electricity facilities and report such concerns to the company.
