POLICE TO DEPLOY 2,552 OFFICERS IN PLATEAU FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Plateau State Police Command says at least 2,552 of its officers and men would be deployed to every part of the state to ensure security of lives and property during the occasion of Nigeria’s Independence Day celebration on October 1.

The Commissioner of Police in the State, Undie Jeremiah Adie disclosed this in an interview with JAY FM on Friday after a meeting with Senior Police Officers at the Command headquarters in Jos

Correspondent JAMES ABRAHAM reports that the Commissioner who spoke through the Command’s Spokesman, Mathias Terna Tyopev made it clear that the police and other security agencies were fully prepared to ensure a hitch-free celebration in the state, adding that a combined team of security personnel on show of force and special patrol have already been deployed to major streets of Jos and environs beginning from today

While reminding the citizens and every ethnic group residing in the state not to panic because of recent development in the country, the Police Commissioner urged the people to go about their normal businesses assuring them of their safety
