Presidency tackles Obasanjo over democracy comment

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Daniel Bwala, has criticized a judgement of the appellate court sacking Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State.
He says it had never been seen where an election was invalidated on the ground that a person disobeyed a court order.
However, Bwala, who is a lawyer, says an election should not be invalidated because of a court order on party congresses.
He urges the people of Plateau to be hopeful as there is every reason to believe the matter will go in the favor of the PDP.
In the same light, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, has again raised alarm over attempts by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to derail Nigeria’s democracy using subterfuge.
He says the party’s “snatch, grab and run” agenda of opposition parties’ mandates is inimical to democracy.
