Upon hearing the incident, the victim’s parents, Garba Danjuma and Margaret Danjuma immediately made efforts and ensured that Mr. Raphael Alexander, now at large, was arrested and taken into police custody.

Mrs. Margaret stated that “After Racheal came back from school, she could not do all of the chores I assigned to her which prompted me to ask if there was any problem only for her to reveal that her teacher had raped her.

“We followed the incident with all commitment and made sure that he was arrested by the police despite so much pressure on us to drop the issue by one medical doctor who claims that my daughter’s teacher is his”Boy “.”

After all their effort to ensure that justice is served, Mr. and Mrs. Garba Danjuma would then find out that the suspect had escaped from police custody.

Probably in an attempt to show its forthrightness and willingness to tackle the matter transparently, the Bassa Police Division will go on to detain all the officers on duty as at the time the fleeing suspect escaped.

Meanwhile, a certain Dr. Kayode Sholesi, whom it was further learnt calls the suspect “his boy” allegedly pressured the victim’s parents to drop their case in exchange for free medical treatment to the victim who had sustained severe multiple injuries as a result of the violation.

Refusing to accept his Greek Gift, the parents then took their daughter to the Bassa Community Clinic for treatment.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in Plateau state, DSP Alabo Alfred confirmed the development and assured that the police was doing all within its power to track the suspect.

“According to him, “The police is well aware of the matter and all the officers on duty when the suspect escaped have been detained but we can assure that we are on his trail to ensure he faces justice.”

The victim’s parents are therefore appealing to the Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina to ensure that the culprit is rearrested and justice, fully served.
