Residents express worry over motorists on high-speed plying newly constructed national library/abattoir bridge

Written by on July 6, 2024

Residents within the Utonkon/abattoir road are calling on the government to pay attention to the safety of pedestrians on the road linking Abattoir to the National Library in order to avoid impending accidents as a result of reckless driving already being experienced on the road.

While they appreciated the government’s efforts to complete the road long abandoned, they fear that it is now encouraging motorists to drive recklessly and at high speed.

Mr. Hassan Ishaya, who spoke to our correspondent on the matter, commends the government for its development efforts, urging the authorities to put up speed bumps and relevant road traffic signs to slow down motorists and ensure the safety of pedestrians, especially children.
