Some Communities in Jos, the Plateau state capital have decried frequent attacks and kidnappings in their areas.

The residents raised the alarm while speaking with Jay FM on Tuesday.

It was gathered that the areas most affected by the kidnappings included the ECWA Staff community, Downtown Base and Rantya among others.

Residents said more than five persons have been kidnapped in the affected communities within the past three weeks.

According to them, the kidnappers usually demanded for huge sums of money as ransom before the victims were released.

A resident of ECWA Staff, Gideon Shaibu, told Jay FM that the situation had been a source of worry to the communities adding that other residents had become apprehensive. But the Police Public Relations Officer in Plateau said the police had put modalities in place to address the situation explaining that more personnel had been deployed to the affected areas for day and night patrols
