Written by on June 24, 2024

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, on Sunday, urged President Bola Tinubu to resolve the lingering issue of the minimum wage of Nigerian workers.

The union also called on the President to address the pending issue with the Academic Staff Union of Universities before it snowballs into another major crisis.

NUJ, in a 17-paragraph communique issued at the end of its quarterly meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, stressed the need for the government to look into the recommendation of joint labour on the issue of the minimum wage.

NUJ President, Chris Isiguzo, who addressed newsmen, said the Federal Government approved N62,000 minimum wage was not in reality with the present economic situation in Nigeria.
