Shettima says FG has mobilized $500m for food system transformation

The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has said that the Federal Government has mobilized over $500m for innovative, profitable, equitable, and sustainable food systems transformation initiatives in Nigeria.
Shettima made this disclosure at the first Stocktaking Moment Summit, themed Transforming Food Systems for People, Planet and Prosperity in Rome, Italy where he is representing President Bola Tinubu.
The Vice President chairing a meeting on the first day of the summit declared open by the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guteress says funds were mobilised through domestic resources, multilateral development banks, international financial institutions and climate funds leading agro-businesses.
He states that the money would be used for innovation finance for food system transformation, development of Nigeria’s agro value chain, and Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones programmes.
