STF Commander relocates base to Mangu as clashes leave twelve persons dead

The Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General Abdusalam Abubakar yesterday, Sunday July 9^th 2023 temporarily relocated the headquarters of its operation to the Mangu Local Government Area of the state.

Major Abubakar’s  move came less than twenty four hours after his assumption of duty as the General Officer Commanding, 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Rukuba.

The decision followed a Saturday night attack on the Sabon Gari community of Mangu LGA, where 12 persons were killed and six houses completely razed down.

Meanwhile, the Transition committee Chairman of Mangu Local government, Mr. Markus Artu is calling for the arrest and investigation of the Miyetti Allah Secretary of the Local government, Salisu Muhammed following allegations he made against the governor, Caleb Mutfwang.

Muhammed in a whatsapp video and audio accused the governor of being behind the ongoing clashes in the area.

In an interview with newsmen, Mr. Markus wonders why the secreatry of Miyetti Allah would act in such a manner against5 the governor who has continued to sue for peace and the return of normalcy in the state.

Similarly, the Chairman of Miyettin Allah in the local government, Alhaji Yahaya Bello condmens in its totality, the viral video and audio released b6y the group’s secretary, Salisu Muhammed.

He says it was not in Muhammed’s place to commend on the unfolding situations which were completely untrue and misleading.
