Supreme Court to deliver Judgement in Plateau

Written by on January 11, 2024

The Supreme Court of Nigeria will tomorrow deliver judgement in the Governorship Election suit involving the Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang and Dr. Nentawe Yilwadta.

This was contained in a short statement from a member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s legal team sighted by Jay FM in the early hours of today.

The apex Court had on Tuesday heard the appeal filed before it by Governor Mutfwang challenging the appellate court’ judgement that sacked him as governor.

Recall that Justice Elfrieda Williams-Daudu on the 19th November, 2023, nullified the tribunal judgement that upheld Mutfwang’s victory at the February 2023 polls.

The election petitions tribunal had ruled that the APC’s ground of the PDP’s lack of structure at the time it contested the election amounted to meddling.

The apex court also sets to deliver judgement for six other states namely, Lagos, Kano, Zamfara, Ebonyi, Bauchi and Cross River.
