Terrorists kill twenty four persons in separate attacks in Zamfara

Rampaging terrorists have killed 24 residents of two communities in Maradun area of Zamfara State in two separate but related attacks at the weekend.
The affected communities are Janbako and Sikida.
Three people were killed in Sikida while 21 people, mostly vigilante members, were killed in Janbako.
It was gathered that the terrorists were from the forest linking Maradun, Bakura, Kaura Namoda and Shinkafi areas, all in the state.
A local source in Janbako village, who asked not to be named for fear of being targeted by the terrorists, told journalists that the terrorists attacked Sikida village last Saturday morning, killing and looting.
In the same vein, community members in the Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State have been plunged into mourning, following a raid by marauders suspected to be armed bandits who killed over 35 persons.
According to locals, the bandits attacked three communities within the local government area namely; Raka, Raka Dutse and Filingawa.
However, the Sokoto State Police Command, in a statement today, Monday 5th June 2023, by the Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmad Rufai, says 30 residents were killed.
