A letter addressed to it’s governorship candidate ,Dr Patrick Dakum urging him to abandon his governorship ambition and join forces with the PDP governorship candidate ,Barrister Caleb Mutfwang had earlier gone on Friday .
The letter addressed to Dakum dated 15th March 2023 showed that it emanated from the office of the National Secretary of the Labour Party ,Dr Umar Faruk Ibrahim
The letter noted that the Labour Party performed excellently well in the just concluded presidential election across the states of the federation where majority of Nigerians and Obidients freely gave their votes to Mr Peter Obi and Datti Baba Ahmed .
The letter further noted that the performance of the Labour Party in some states was however, dismal considering that the party could not win any seat in the National Assembly election in many states including Plateau state
The letter stated that it was for this reason that the National Executive of the Labour Party decided to endorse the candidate of the PDP in Plateau state ,Barrister Caleb Mutfwang for the March 18 governorship election .
The letter appreciated Dr Patrick Dakum and his deputy,Edward Pwajok for holding forth so far for the Labour Party in the state up till this moment and directed them to ensure that they accord the PDP candidate access to all the structures of the Labour Party in the state to enable them win the election collectively .
However ,the National Chairman of the Labour in a video distanced himself from the purported letter and insisted that Dr Dakum remains the candidate of the party in the state
