the Police command in Plateau state has come under heavy criticism for its latest decision to seal the 17 local government secretariats of the state.
Residents who spoke to our correspondents say it had become unfortunate that the police have delved into politics.
They add that with the Court a few hours ago ordering the IGP, Usman Baba’s arrest, he has no rights to embark on the task of destabilizing the activities and operations of the local governments in such a manner.
They are also questioning the role of the Plateau state commissioner of police, CP Bartholomew Onyeka in the last eight months, especially with his actions in the recent past where he sealed the state house of assembly complex.
The inspector general of police, IGP Usman Baba, a few hours ago ordered the sealing of the 17 Local governments of plateau state.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Alabo Alfred, the polce said that the step taken became necessary in order to avert the break down of law and order in the local governments.
