Tinubu tells service Chiefs to prioritize team work

Written by on July 4, 2023

President Bola Tinubu is urging the newly appointed service chiefs to work as a team, noting that there is so much work to be done.

Tinubu made the remark when he met the new National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu and the new service chiefs for the first time, since their appointment on June 19, 2023.

The NSA told State House Correspondents afterward that the President assured the service chiefs of his unwavering support during the meeting.

Ribadu says the service chiefs, on their part, pledged their loyalty to the President and Nigerians, adding that they will work tirelessly to secure the nation.

With arrangements for more synergy being advocated, a security expert, Bulama Bukarti, has disagreed with a former Governor of Zamfara State, Ahmad Yerima, who is advising President Bola Tinubu to negotiate with bandits.

Bukarti says the Federal Government should instead use military force to end any form of terrorism and banditry.

Yerima, after visiting the President at Aso Villa suggested that the best way to end insurgency in Nigeria is to dialogue with bandits rather than apply military force on them.

However, Burkati says dialogue and negotiations have no place in ending the security challenges within the country.
