Tinubu, US and others condemn horrific Borno blasts

President Bola Tinubu has condemned Saturday’s tragic and senseless suicide bomb blast in Borno State, describing it as a desperate act of terror.

18 people were killed when four suicide bombers set off improvised explosive devices, IEDs in Gwoza Local Government Area.

Hours later, the Presidency issued a statement, commiserating with the victims’ families as well as the Borno State Government.

The President’s message is contained in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant, Ajuri Ngelale.

The United States Government condemned the attack, describing it as horrific.

This is as it reiterates the Mission’s commitment to collaborate with the Nigerian government to defeat terrorism and bring the perpetrators of these heinous acts to justice.

The explosion left at least 18 people dead.

A local government official who confirmed this to journalists says 30 of the female suicide bombers were sent into Gwoza to detonate the Improvised Explosives Devices at different locations within the area.

According to the source, only four suicide bombers exploded so far.
