UK Government congratulates Tinubu and Shettima on inauguration into office

The United Kingdom Government has congratulated President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima on their inauguration.

According to a statement, King Charles III expressed his warmest congratulations and wishes to send Tinubu every possible good wish as he assumes the many responsibilities of his office.

Helen Grant, the UK Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on Trade to Nigeria and Girls’ Education, also said, her priority is to strengthen the bilateral trade and investment partnership, to the mutual benefit of our two great nations.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has pledged his commitment towards working with Tinubu to strengthen ties between his country and Nigeria.

Biden stated this in a statement shortly after Tinubu’s inauguration yesterday.

Biden says the US would continue to work closely with Nigeria to deliver a more peaceful and prosperous future for the world, noting that ‘’Nigeria’s success is the world’s success.’’

Shortly after his inauguration, the President met with envoys from the United Kingdom, United States, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Brazil, South Korea, Israel, Cape Verde, Somalia and Nicaragua at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The diplomats presented their goodwill messages and letters of support and solidarity to Tinubu.

In his response, Tinubu assured them of his commitment in uniting the country in prosperity.
