Students of the University of Jos are currently protesting over the deteriorating state of facilities in the school, lack of quality and affordable medical consumables, water as well as inadequate laboratory equipment.
The leader of the various faculties in the school, Zopla Paul, who spoke to our correspondent Ruth Marcus, in the place of student union leaders expressed huge outrage over the alarming state of things that have adversely affected students leading to low academic productivity.
He further calls on the Vice Chancellor, Professor Tanko Ishaya, to rise up to the demands of his office and address the challenges.

Some students who carried placards with inscriptions that read “Tanko Must Go” “What has our school fees been used for” “Provide good facilities among others recounted the dilapidating state of facilities in the school particularly the school clinic, that has allegedly led to the untimely death of some students.

All frantic efforts to reach the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Chris Pewuna to comment on the development proved abortive as his phone line was not reachable.
