Plateau state commissioner for information under fire over statements on Senator Jang

Written by on March 13, 2023

The Plateau state commissioner of information, Dan Manjang has come under fire for his statements against the elder statesman.

In a statement by the media consultant to Jang, Clinton Garuba, the commissioner and his principal were nowhere near the pedigree of the former governor in terms of performance and service delivery to Plateau state.

Senator Jang had cautioned a Jos-based Islamic cleric, Sheik Yahaya Jingir over inflammatory comments made regarding the 2023 elections, which Jang condemned in its entirety.

However, Manjang in his reply accused Da Jonah Jang of watering down the achievements of the current administration, including uniting the state.

The statement adds that former Governor Jang by every means has earned the place of an elder statesman and it would only take disrespectful people with a distasteful character to think or say otherwise.

The statement also describes as shameful for someone who prides himself as an honorable to spew such disrespectful comments towards and an elder statesman who once gave him an opportunity to serve in government where he failed totally.

He therefore challenged Manjang to contest and win a political office before coming to discredit the revered former governor.
